Boreal forests.

Adults have been collected from 15 June to 24 July.

identification
Medium-sized brown to black species with silvery setae and reddish to brownish legs. The sides of the pronotum are convex, hind angles of the pronotum bear a distinct carina and the pronotal punctures are relatively dense. Length is between 11 and 13 mm.

life history
Larvae live in leaf litter.

conservation
Uncommon.

range
Boreal forests south to Edson. In North America, Yukon to Newfoundland, south to British Columbia in the west and New York state in the east.
