Standing waters and possibly some slower moving waters.
Adults fly from May to October.
Adults are highly variable between species as to colour, size, venation and pilosity.
Larvae are predacious
Agrypnia is the largest genus in the family Phryganeidae. It is Holarctic in distribution and in Canada comprises of 20 species (Schmid, 1998), 8 of which occur in Alberta.
